Alpha-Arbutin

Also known as: 4-Hydroxyphenyl-Alpha-D-Glucopyranoside

Alpha-arbutin is a glycosylated hydroquinone derivative that inhibits tyrosinase activity, reducing melanin production without the cytotoxicity associated with hydroquinone. It is more stable and effective than beta-arbutin. Used for hyperpigmentation, dark spots, and uneven skin tone. Works synergistically with vitamin C and niacinamide.
