Butylene Glycol

Also known as: 1,3-Butanediol, BG

Butylene glycol is a small diol used as a solvent, humectant, and penetration enhancer in skincare formulations. It improves the texture of products, helps dissolve other ingredients, and enhances the delivery of actives into the skin. It is lighter than glycerin and less sticky. Well-tolerated by most skin types including sensitive and acne-prone.
