Cetearyl Alcohol

Also known as: Cetostearyl Alcohol

Cetearyl alcohol is a blend of cetyl and stearyl alcohols, both fatty alcohols derived from plant sources. It functions as an emollient, thickener, and emulsion stabiliser. It imparts a rich, creamy texture to formulations and is a staple in conditioners, creams, and lotions. Like all fatty alcohols, it is not drying and should not be confused with simple alcohols.
