Ferulic acid is a hydroxycinnamic acid found in the cell walls of plants. It is a potent antioxidant that significantly enhances the stability and efficacy of vitamins C and E when combined. The combination of 15% L-ascorbic acid, 1% vitamin E, and 0.5% ferulic acid is one of the most well-researched antioxidant formulations in skincare, doubling photoprotection.
