Hydroxyethylcellulose (HEC) is a water-soluble cellulose derivative used as a thickener and film former in cosmetic formulations. It creates clear, stable gels and improves product texture. Derived from natural cellulose, it is biodegradable and well-tolerated. Commonly used in serums, gels, and lightweight moisturisers.
