Also known as: Jojoba Wax
Jojoba oil is technically a liquid wax ester that closely resembles human sebum in structure. This makes it highly compatible with skin and unlikely to cause breakouts. It is stable, non-oxidising, and provides excellent emolliency. Used as a carrier oil, moisturiser, and makeup remover. Its wax ester structure means it does not go rancid easily.
Comedogenicity ratings are based on the rabbit ear assay model. Individual skin responses vary. See our article on comedogenicity ratings for context.
