Mandelic Acid

Also known as: Alpha-Hydroxyphenylacetic Acid

Mandelic acid is an AHA derived from bitter almonds with the largest molecular weight of the commonly used AHAs. Its large size means slower skin penetration and a gentler exfoliation profile, making it suitable for sensitive and darker skin tones where other AHAs may cause post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation. It also has antibacterial properties beneficial for acne-prone skin.
