Also known as: Provitamin B5, D-Panthenol, DL-Panthenol
Panthenol (provitamin B5) is a humectant that converts to pantothenic acid in the skin, where it supports barrier repair and wound healing. It reduces transepidermal water loss, soothes irritation, and improves skin elasticity. Widely used in both skincare and haircare for its conditioning and regenerative properties.
Comedogenicity ratings are based on the rabbit ear assay model. Individual skin responses vary. See our article on comedogenicity ratings for context.
