Pentylene glycol is a multifunctional diol that acts as a solvent, humectant, and preservative booster. It has intrinsic antimicrobial activity, allowing formulators to reduce the concentration of traditional preservatives. It also improves skin feel and helps deliver active ingredients. Increasingly popular as a natural-origin solvent in clean beauty formulations.
