Phytic acid (inositol hexaphosphate) is a natural chelating agent derived from plant seeds. It binds metal ions, improving formulation stability and preservative efficacy. It also has mild exfoliating and brightening properties through tyrosinase inhibition. Used as a natural alternative to EDTA in formulations targeting clean beauty claims.
