Polysorbate 20 is a polyoxyethylene sorbitan ester used as an emulsifier and solubiliser in cosmetic formulations. It has a high HLB value (16.7) making it effective for oil-in-water emulsions. Commonly used to solubilise fragrance oils and essential oils in water-based products. Well-tolerated by most skin types.
