Vitamin C (L-Ascorbic Acid)

Ascorbic Acid

Also known as: L-Ascorbic Acid, Ascorbic Acid, Vitamin C

L-ascorbic acid is the most bioavailable and potent form of vitamin C. It inhibits tyrosinase, reducing melanin production and brightening the complexion. It is essential for collagen synthesis and provides powerful antioxidant protection against UV-induced free radical damage. Highly unstable, it oxidises rapidly when exposed to air and light. Effective formulations maintain pH below 3.5.
